The American Club of Lyon was founded in 1987 to bring American expatriates together to share their common cultural background and to share American traditions with our members, their families, and friends in the Rhône-Alpes region. We support the global American expatriate community through our FAWCO (Federation of American Women’s Clubs Overseas, Inc.) membership.
Today, we organize activities tailored to adults, children, and whole families such as cooking classes, guided tours, children’s Halloween trick-or-treat and Easter Egg Hunt, family hikes, Thanksgiving potluck dinners, wine and cheese tastings, fruit and vegetable picking, dinners at traditional Lyonnais bouchons, and an annual 4th of July cookout, to name a few. Our regular activities include Coffee Chat (each Tuesday morning), Happy Hour (once a month) and Book Club (once a month).

Ses objectifs sont de faciliter l’intégration de ses membres dans la société française tout en partageant leur héritage culturel commun. L’association s’efforce également de promouvoir le dialogue interculturel en renforçant au niveau local les liens entre les communautés française et américaine.
