Book Club – April 20

This event is open to members and non-members

Date and Time: We will meet Monday, April 20 at 2:00 pm
Place: The book store Raconte Moi la Terre’s tearoom, 14 rue du Plat 69002 Lyon (near Place Bellecour)

Our book choice for April is Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert (1821-1880), was the younger son of a provincial doctor, who briefly studied law before devoting himself to writing, with limited success during his lifetime. After the publication of Madame Bovary in 1857, he was prosecuted for offending public morals.

Our selection for May is Five Quarters of the Orange, by Joanne Harris who returns to the small-town, postwar France of Chocolat.

Suggestions for June are welcome.

Let me know if you plan to attend so I can save enough chairs. They serve lunch there if you would like to come earlier.

Event Organizers: Cathy Pfaff, Michelle Clayborne, Lisa Arsac
